Presidents Park will be inundated with a flotilla of foodie offerings later this month for the first- ever Wyndham Food Truck Festival.

Event organiser Tejas Patel said the festival was inspired by a similar event he attended in the eastern suburbs.

“I felt like we were missing out in the west so I decided to bring it to this side of town,” he said.

“The weekend-long event will celebrate food, fun and friendship.”

Mr Patel said there would be more than 15 food trucks present at the festival, providing everything from Mexican and Sri Lankan, to Cambodian, Indian and Vietnamese food.

“We will also have live entertainment over the weekend from the best local artists, music from around the world … Brazilian music and Chinese dance,” he said.

“There will also be rides for the kids and other activities – there will be something for everyone.”

Mr Patel is expecting more than 15,000 people to turn out for the weekend’s gourmet delights. He said Melbourne’s love affair with food trucks was reflected in the pop-up shops and gourmet food truck trends seen in many cities around the world.

The Wyndham Food Truck Festival will be held at Presidents Park on the weekend of November 28-29.

Entry is $5 at the gate, or free by booking online.
