Police arrest man in Tarneit

UPDATE: Police have charged a 32-year-old man in Tarneit in relation to an armed robbery at an Ardeer convenience store on May 20.

The man was arrested after police executed a search warrant at an Olivia Rise property about 10.45am yesterday (Thursday August 16).

The man faced the Melbourne Magistrates’ Court yesterday evening, charged with armed robbery, being a prohibited person possessing a firearm, using firearm with reckless disregard for any person, reckless conduct endangering life, possessing cartridge ammunition, possessing a drug of dependence and using number plates not issued to a vehicle. The man was remanded to re-appear in court at a later date.

On Thursday, police also executed a search warrant at a factory in Concorde Crescent, Werribee, where they seized a firearm.

Detectives have previously charged a 21-year-old Laverton man with armed robbery in relation to the Ardeer robbery. He was bailed to appear at the Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on October 30.
