The Boundary and Davis Road intersection in Mount Cottrell will be closed to motorists from January 10 until the end of March to allow for construction work.

The $1 million intersection upgrade will include pavement widening and resurfacing, signage and line marking improvements, and road drainage upgrades.

Wyndham mayor Susan McIntyre said the project was being jointly funded by Wyndham and Melton councils.

“Improving local roads is one of the key priorities of the 2022/23 council budget, and these works will deliver enhanced intersection safety and an overall smoother drive,” Councillor McIntyre said.

“Wyndham City’s Road Safety Strategy 2022-2032 envisions that everyone who travels on our roads and paths will arrive safely at their destination.

“This important upgrade will help ensure this increasingly busy intersection is safe for all road users.

“Traffic diversions will be in place during the construction period and drivers are advised to please plan ahead and allow extra time for traffic delays.”
