All about extras: 17 Penrose Promenade, Tarneit, 3029

You know a former display home is sure to have extra perks and, with this one, the fab alfresco area is definitely one of them. Other indoor “extras” make lower-key statements, while the double garage comes with double benefits – more on that later.

The spacious house roosts in convenience-central, with parks, playgrounds and sports ovals within a stroll. Tarneit Gardens shopping centre and Grange P-12 and Tarneit P-9 colleges are three minutes’ drive away.

The indoor palette is in soft earthy tones of greys, lattes, cream and sandstone, and windows are dressed with a mix of rollerblinds and slim-line venetians. Outdoors, the block of about 575 square metres involves a little weekend mowing, but otherwise is easy-care for busy families.

Entry is to a tiled walkway, with open lounge room on the right and double doors to the main bedroom on the left. The latter has walk-in fitted wardrobe, dual-basin en suite and split-system. Three more fitted bedrooms are down a second hallway; two feature large wall mirrors that teens will pretend not to love. The main bathroom and separate toilet are along the same hall.

The spacious living domain incorporates a kitchen in which a large waterfall island bench in mottled latte tones complements the latte cabinetry and cream splashback tiles. A walk-in pantry, dishwasher and 900mm cooker equip the cook-friendly space. The laundry, has a three-door closet, multiple cupboards, workbench and drying rack.

Outdoor relaxation/entertainment space, accessed via bifolds one way and glass sliders another, is cleverly executed under the roofline. One section houses an outdoor kitchen with stone-topped cabinetry, ceiling fan and gas plumbing.

The other integrated section of covered deck has boards extending lavishly to the side fence and back to meet the garage’s sliding doors. That garage has ducted heating and cooling, internet and its own phone line. making it a potential office, teen retreat or extra entertainment space.
