Bestselling Australian author Fiona Lowe will be coming to Werribee Library, 177 Watton Street, Werribee, on March 28 at 6.30pm to talk about her latest novel Home Fires. This free event will be followed by a Q&A session, book sales and signings.

Classic Car Show and Shine

Wyndham Classics Car Club is hosting a show and shine on March 24 from 9am-3pm at 100 Overton Road, Williams Landing. Trophies on offer for motorbikes, trucks, classic and modern cars. There will also be a jumping castle and face-painting for little ones, live entertainment, a barbecue and free fittings of anti-theft number plate screws. Entry is gold coin donation.

Stepping Stones program

The Brotherhood of St Laurence, with the support of Wyndham council, is running a 15-week small business training program starting in May for women from refugee, migrant and diverse backgrounds. The sessions will be held on Thursdays from 9.30am-3pm at the Youth Resource Centre, 86 Derrimut Road, Hoppers Crossing. These programs are free and child care is provided.

Car boot sale

A car boot sale will be held on the Werribee Church of Christ lawn, 200 Tarneit Road, Werribee from 9am-2pm on Saturday, March 23. Sellers welcome at $10 a bay, set-up at 8am. Free tea and coffee.

Drive-Thru recycling

Have you got an old television, furniture or bulky cardboard that is taking up space in your house? Wyndham council will host a pop-up recycling day on March 23 from 8am-1.30pm at Wootten Road Reserve in Tarneit. A range of household items will be accepted, including electronic waste, furniture, bikes, barbecues and bulky cardboard.
