Wyndham residents will be able to grill Premier Denis Napthine and his cabinet colleagues at a community forum next month.
Dr Napthine and state government ministers will hold a cabinet
meeting, speak with local organisations and businesses and take part in a
community forum in Werribee on October 7.
It will be the government’s third community cabinet visit since Dr
Napthine became leader in March, however, it will be the first held in
an outer growth area.

Dr Napthine said the forum was a great way for the community to discuss local issues with the government.
“It is vital as Premier of the state, that the Victorian
government is working with the Wyndham council, the Committee for
Wyndham and the local community to provide support for growth and
development,” he said.
“We want to hear first-hand from the citizens of Werribee, the
citizens of Wyndham about their needs and aspirations, their ideas. It
will be an opportunity for citizens to come and make their comments, ask
their questions and have their say about how the Victorian government can work with them to improve services.”
Dr Napthine said he expected that most questions will focus on
Wyndham’s rapid population growth and its infrastructure gap, adding
that the city had “special demands”.
Mayor Heather Marcus said she was looking forward to briefing Dr
Napthine on projects requiring state government funding and offered to
take him on a tour of the city.
The community forum will be held at the civic centre from 5.30pm.
