Wyndhamvale has avoided the shame of a winless season after upsetting Albion by 20 points in the Western Region Football League division 1 at Wyndham Vale South Oval on Saturday.

The Falcons were competitive in the early parts of the season, but have been pushovers for the past month, so this victory came out of the blue.

The Falcons will need to back up with a win over second-last St Albans at Kings Park Reserve on Saturday to have any chance of avoiding a last-placed finish.

They will at least go into the clash with some players in good form, none more so than Nathan Bisset, who kicked five goals in the win against Albion. Kobe James, Kier Bol and Jack Tessari were also prominent.

Werribee Districts remain two points clear at the top end of the ladder after a 78-point win against St Albans at Soldiers Reserve. It was a special day for the Tigers with midfielder Matt Dean celebrating his 200th senior game for the club.

Hoppers Crossing ran riot to record a 57-point win over Caroline Springs.

Jordan Mead and Riley Kitchen snared four goals apiece for the Warriors.

In division 2, Manor Lakes had a resounding 88-point win over Albanvale with Ty Priest starring with seven goals.

In division 3, Wyndham Suns made it 12 straight wins to start the season, cruising to a 68-point win over Laverton.

Steven Neralic kicked seven goals and the consistent Asher Kirk was best-on-ground for the Suns.

Luke Henderson kicked six goals as Point Cook Centrals crushed North Sunshine by 87 points and Aaron Campbell dominated for Tarneit in a 72-point win over Sunshine Heights.

Glen Orden’s two-game win streak came to an end with a 49-point loss to Braybrook.
