Westmeadows is through to a second straight North West Metropolitan Cricket Association T20 grand final, but it wasn’t without a fright, defeating Tarneit Central in a bowl off.

For much of the second half of the game, the Warriors looked like they wouldn’t get the chance to defend last year’s title in the final game of the competition.

Batting first, the Warriors made 115 off 20 overs in tough conditions.

Tarneit looked in control for most of the run chase, but the Warriors kept taking wickets to keep themselves in the game.

Heading into the final over Tarneit needed just one run for victory, while the Warriors needed two wickets.

Ryan Blair struck twice  without Tarneir scoring as the Warriors bowled Tarneit out for 115, leaving the scores tied.

The umpires decided the game would be decided in a bowl off, with six players from each team having a bowl at the stumps. The team with the most players that hit the stumps, would be the winner.

The Warriors came out on top with experienced duo Danny Law and Darryl Brown both hitting the stumps. Only one Tarneit player was able to do that.

The Warriors now face Jacana 2 in the grand final.

Jacana 2 won their semi final against Maribynrong Park St Marys the previous week.

In that game, Jacana finished 6-123 in reply to Maribyrnong Park St Marys 9-119.
