Inspirational captain Jarred Moore was the leading vote-getter for the Werribee Tigers in Monday night’s Liston Trophy count for best and fairest in the Victorian Football League.
Moore, a hard-nosed midfielder, polled 10 votes, a long way back from Box Hill Hawks’ Alex Woodward, who finished on 20 votes ahead of North Ballarat’s Liam Anthony (17) and Footscray’s Tom Campbell (15).
Moore was also named on the interchange bench in the VFL team of the year, alongside youngster Tom Gribble.
A third Tiger, Jye Bolton, was named on the wing.
Jobi Harper was the top Tiger in the Todd Medal count, for best and fairest in the AFL development league, with six votes.
Harper finished seven votes behind joint winners Josh Muling (Port Melbourne) and Peter McEvoy (Box Hill Hawks).
Werribee president John Nicol was one of four people given VFL life membership for long service to the competition.
