VSDCA: O’Brien stars in Tiger triumph

WERRIBEE hardly put a foot wrong in a 197-run demolition of Moorabbin in the Victorian Sub-District Cricket Association at Moorleigh Community Village on Saturday.

The Tigers have been striving to hit their straps in the field all summer and got as close to perfection as they could possibly get. They scattered the hosts for a mediocre 133 in 68.2 overs.

Stephen Plumridge (3-25) and Tim O’Brien (3-28) were damaging.

It was O’Brien, of course, with 183 not out on day one, along with Matthew Dean (88), who set the wheels in motion for the Tigers’ huge win.

Saturday’s win means the Tigers should have at least a top-three finish under wraps. They return south this Saturday for a tough duel with Kingston Saints at Walter Galt Reserve.
