The Wyndham Learning Festival was launched on Friday, August 5, at the Wunggurwil Dhurung Centre with a Welcome to Country, a speech from the deputy mayor, and various musical performances from students from a range of schools.
In its seventh year running, the festival will promote 55 events centered around this years theme, to build a resilient and sustainable Wyndham.
“The Wyndham Learning Festival is a wonderful example of Community and Council working
hand in hand to achieve positive outcomes for our community,” deputy mayor Jasmine Hill said.
“The highlight of the Wyndham Learning Festival is the WYNtalk event on the 3rd of September at Encore Events Centre and features skilled interviewer Jon Faine, who will interview five Wyndham residents as they share their own fascinating and inspirational stories of overcoming challenges and demonstrating resilience.
“I encourage everyone to have a look at the program and find something that interests them
or something new they haven’t tried before.”
The free festival will run from September 1-7 and include workshops such as, a multicultural sports expo for all ages, an author talk by Morris Gleitzman, STEM sessions for both kids and adults, wetlands walks, cooking sessions and gardening tips.
