Werribee girl among six teens arrested

Police have arrested and charged six teenagers, including a Werribee youth, in relation to a car theft in Beaumaris yesterday.

Officers received a report of a group of people acting suspiciously near an allegedly stolen Mercedes on Little Street around 9am on Tuesday.

Police attended the area but the group fled on foot.

Local officers, along with specialist units, coordinated a search of the area and arrested seven people.

A 16-year-old female from Richmond, a 16-year-old female from Fraser Rise, a 16-year-old male from Richmond and a 17-year-old male from Dandenong have been charged with theft of motor vehicle and commit indictable offence whilst on bail.

They have been bailed to appear in a Children’s Court at a later date.

A 17-year-old female from Werribee has been charged with theft of motor vehicle and has been bailed to appear in a Children’s Court at a later date.

A 15-year-old Balwyn North boy has been charged with theft of motor vehicle and will appear at a Children’s Court at a later date.

One other male was released pending further inquiries.
