A music video featuring students and staff from Woodville Primary School in Hoppers Crossing is helping to keep spirits high during lockdown.

The clip, the brainchild of PE teacher Tom Digby, shows pupils, teachers and others from the school community – some in costumes – dancing to Nutbush City Limits in their houses, backyards and other locations.

Since being uploaded to YouTube just over a fortnight ago, it has been viewed more than 450 times.

Mr Digby said he contacted Woodville families and staff, asking them to contribute footage for the video, in an effort to keep students moving and exercising through dancing.

He then edited the various contributed clips into one video.

“I wanted to keep that community spirit going at the school, I’ve only been at the school for a year and the community is amazing,” Mr Digby said.

“Even if the kids didn’t do the Nutbush, they could send in videos of them dancing or waving.

“The main thing I didn’t expect was for so many people to send me videos.”

Mr Digby said the project was another way for students to see the teachers they have been missing during lockdown.

“I really enjoyed making it, I make a lot of videos for the kids and interactive PE videos for the kids to do at home,” he said.

“I did it for the families and kids at the school it was a lot of fun making it.

“I really enjoyed making it and it is inspiring me to make more videos for the kids.”
