Community grants open

Examples of events to be funded include cultural events and activities, health, wellbeing and safety projects and environmental protection initiatives.

Wyndham council is offering grants of up to $40,000 for local not-for-profit organisations and community groups.

The grants will be allocated to submissions that align with the Wyndham 2040 Community Vision and other council strategies to ultimately support the municipality’s ongoing recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic.

Examples include cultural events and activities, health, wellbeing and safety projects and environmental protection initiatives.

“Successful recipients of our Large Grants will encourage group participation in community life, which enhances the livability, health and wellbeing of Wyndham’s community – something we all value deeply,” mayor Adele Hegedich said.

“Up to $40,000 can make a major impact on not just the community group involved, but the rest of Wyndham too.

“This Large Grant round will benefit our community for many more years to come.”

The council is encouraging applicants to provide contingency options so their projects can be held online, in case pandemic restrictions mean they cannot be held in person.

Applications for the council’s Large Grants program will close at 3pm on Wednesday, October 20.

Wyndham’s Small Grants round for community projects is also open on a monthly basis.
