Valentine’s for single parents

A Werribee playcentre will host a Valentine’s Day event for single parents and their children.
Tracey Jobe, owner of Bumble Beez Indoor Playcentre, said she decided to organise the event to help connect single parents from the western suburbs.
Parents will be able to bring their youngsters along to the event to play, while the adults chat.
“I am also a single parent and know that Valentine’s Day can be quite difficult,” Ms Jobe said.
“I thought it would be a great opportunity for single mums and dads to meet local parents in the same situation.
“It would be great if friendships grew from such an event – possibly even love, who knows.”
Ms Jobe said that children of any age were welcome to attend, as the playcentre has a special area for toddlers and a playground suitable for children aged up to 12.
“Coming to an event like this is very relaxed, you can be social or you can just let your children do the socializing, there are no rules for the night,” she said.
“It’s about being in a neutral and safe environment whilst hopefully broadening a social network.”
Ms Jobe said the playcentre’s café would be open on the night to provide attendees with a home-cooked meal.
The Single Parents Valentine’s Day Playdate will be held on Friday, 14 February 2020 from 5-9pm, entry: free for adults and $3 for children to play.
Bumble Beez Indoor Playcentre is located at 27 Loop Rd, Werribee
