Thomas Carr College has commemorated the 20-year anniversary of their relationship with The National Malaya and Borneo Veterans Association.

A dedicated service was held on Tuesday, May 3, and drew the attendance of Mayor Peter Maynard and local MP Joanne Ryan.

Students from Thomas Carr carry the Malaya Borneo Veterans’ Association Banner along with both the Malaysian flag and the Australian flag at the ANZAC Day March in Melbourne’s CBD, every year and also stand alongside veterans at the Shrine of Remembrance on the National Day of remembrance.

“The staff and students at the College feel very privileged to have the opportunity to walk alongside the veterans in two important marches each year, to show their respect and to hear their stories,” Thomas Carr acting principal Lucy Angelico said.

“The Thomas Carr community is committed to honouring the legacy of the Veterans in the years to come.”
