Teens charged after police car allegedly rammed

Police have today charged four teenagers following the alleged ramming of a police car in Tarneit on Friday.

Two Wyndham Vale boys, aged 15 and 16, have been charged with theft of motor vehicle and bail offences.

A 16-year-old Tarneit boy has been charged with armed robbery, theft of motor vehicle, theft and bail offences.

All three have been remanded to appear before a children’s court at a later date.

A 17-year-old Tarneit boy has been charged with burglary, theft and theft of motor vehicle.

He has been bailed to appear before a children’s court at a later date.

The charges follow an incident on Hopkins Road about 11.20am on Friday, July 30 when an allegedly-stolen Nissan collided with the front of a police car while performing a U-turn.

The vehicle was located a short time later on Hummingbird Boulevard. The car had flipped on to its roof after crashing into another vehicle.

The occupants allegedly fled on foot and were arrested a short time later.
