He’s the pint-sized golfer with a big presence on the green – and eight-year-old Taegen Dodds is just getting started.

After taking out the US Kids Golf Melbourne Summer Series, the Point Cook youngster automatically qualified for the US Kids Golf World Championships, which will be held in Pinehurst, North Carolina this month.

More than 1500 kids from all over the world will take part in the event.

Taegen started playing golf when he was three and quickly discovered his natural talent and passion for the sport. He was competing by the time he was five and is the youngest-ever member at Sanctuary Lakes Golf Club.

Taegen practises three times a week under the guidance of coaches Dave McKendrick and Chris Andrews and also does fitness sessions to improve his core strength.

The Sanctuary Lakes Golf Club will host a Taegen Dodd’s Golf Day on Friday, July 14, to help Taegen get to the World Championships.

Entry is $50. For more information, call 9394 9494 or email club@sanctuarylakesclub.com.au
