Super spirit in hospital gifts

Nine Woolworths supermarkets in Wyndham are combining to make Christmas more enjoyable for patients at Werribee Mercy Hospital.

The stores will collect donations of gifts to be distributed to people who will spend Christmas at the hospital.

The supermarkets’ group manager, Josh McLean, said the idea came from staff members.

Customers are invited to buy presents and leave them at any of the participating Woolworths stores.

Those who donate gifts have been advised to avoid perishable items and instead give presents such as books, pyjamas and toiletries, and to remember that Werribee Mercy does not have any paediatric patients.
