Sixty-nine new active COVID cases in Wyndham

The number of active COVID-19 cases diagnosed in Wyndham residents has increased by 69 cases overnight.

The number of active cases in Wyndham has reached a total of 601 today, compared to 532 active cases yesterday.

The top five municipalities in the state for active cases are Brimbank (with 651 active cases), Wyndham, Hume (with 428 active cases), Whittlesea (with 392 active cases) and Melton (with 312 active cases).

According to the Department of Health and Human Services, 56 cases have been linked to the Glendale Aged Care Facility in Werribee. Fifty-two cases have been linked to the BaptCare Wyndham Lodge in Werribee

Sixteen cases have been linked to the Linfox Warehouse in Truganina and 11 cases have been linked to Diamond Valley Pork in Laverton North.

Victoria has recorded 723 new cases of the coronavirus since yesterday.

The overall total has increased by 694, due to 29 cases being reclassified – largely due to duplication.

There are presently 5385 active cases of the virus in Victoria.

Sixty-four of the new cases are linked to known outbreaks or complex cases and 660 are under investigation.

There have been 13 new deaths from COVID-19 reported since yesterday. They were three men in their 70s, three women in their 70s, three men in their 80s, two women in their 80s and two men in their 90s.

Ten of the 13 deaths are linked to known outbreaks in aged care facilities. To date, 105 people have died from coronavirus in Victoria.

As of today, 312 Victorians with the coronavirus are in hospital, including 34 patients in intensive care.

Since March, 4259 people in the state have recovered from the virus.
