Detectives from Taskforce Wayward have arrested six males after three teenagers were allegedly assaulted with machetes in Werribee last month.
The incident occurred at a park on Rosella Avenue around 6.45pm on October 31.
The offenders, who were allegedly armed with poles, knives and machetes, approached the trio of teenage boys and assaulted them.
During the incident, a 17-year-old boy was struck with a machete, causing serious injuries to his lower body.
The Hoppers Crossing boy managed to run away to a nearby property, but was allegedly followed and verbally threatened.
The other victims also fled from the scene, but the offenders allegedly followed them to another location before assaulting the two 18-year-old men with weapons.
One victim, from Truganina, received a serious laceration to his head.
The two victims fled on foot and were later taken to hospital for treatment. The Hoppers Crossing boy also required hospitalisation following the incident.
Detectives today executed nine warrants across Melbourne’s west and arrested six males.
Two 15-year-old boys from Point Cook and Melton South, and a 14-year-old from Albanvale have been charged with violent disorder, possessing a controlled weapon and committing an indictable offence on bail. All three have been remanded to appear before a children’s court at a later date.
A 22-year-old man from Deer Park has been charged with violent disorder, possessing a controlled weapon, committing an indictable offence on bail and failing to provide information. He was remanded to appear before Sunshine Magistrates’ Court on 17 November.
A 21-year-old man from Hoppers Crossing has been charged with violent disorder and was bailed to appear before Sunshine Magistrates’ Court on 23 June 2021.
A 23-year-old Hoppers Crossing man was released without chargee.
