Christmas on the Lake celebrates 10th year

Festival volunteers get ready for a rockin’ good time.

Christmas at the Lakes is on again this year at Point Cook, signalling the time for everyone to wind down and get into the festive spirit.

Now in its 10th year, the festival will feature crowd favourites, including live performances and Christmas carols sung by local talent and school children, children’s rides, an animal farm, face painting, food and craft stalls, a visit from Santa, and the popular fireworks finale.

Christmas at the Lakes spokesman Kevin Birtles said the festival has become an important event to bring the Point Cook community together, put on by local business people, community groups and residents.

“Over the last few years, we have seen this event grow, with a massive turnout from the community,” he said.

“This is truly a community event. It is put together by a volunteer committee and supported by the local CFA, Lions and Rotary clubs.”

The event will be held at Breezewater Reserve, Sanctuary Lakes, on December 5, from 11am until 9.30pm.
