Police are appealing for public assistance in identifying a man following an attempted armed robbery and an armed robbery in Wyndham Vale.
Police said a man attended a kiosk on Armstrong Road about 6am on Thursday, February 2 and approached a female staff member, demanding cash and threatening her.
The woman refused to comply and the man left, before walking to a nearby fast-food restaurant on Ballan Road, rushing inside and grabbing a staff member who was cleaning the store, according to police.
Police said the staff member was forced to the front counter and the man held a knife to her while demanding other staff members hand over cash.
They complied with his demands and he then left the store.
The man is perceived to be caucasian, approximately 165 centimetres tall with a medium to large build, and at the time of the offence was wearing a faded blue hooded top, black pants and black shoes.
