Police crack down on Werribee fight club

Police are aware of an organised fight scheduled to take place in Werribee on Friday afternoon and have vowed to shut it down.

Wyndham police inspector Frank Sells said police were notified of the planned fight by somebody within the community.

“Our people will be very proactive in the area and will be increasing police presence.

“We have spoken to a number of people likely to be involved and have many bases covered, so we are confident that this fight will not take place.”

Inspector Wells was unable to divulge the planned location for the fight or how many people are suspected to be involved.

“Our approach is to make sure the community stays safe,” he said.

“We are all sick and tired of violence, and the community will not tolerate this.”
