Police appeal for witnesses to alleged abduction

Police are investigating a possible abduction in Tarneit five years ago after witnesses have recently come forward.

Police are still trying to establish the circumstances surrounding the incident but it is believed a woman was grabbed by a man in Ecoville Park on the morning, of the Saturday of The Queen’s Birthday weekend, in 2017.

Police were told the woman was restrained by her wrists before it is believed she was put in the back of a grey Ford Ranger utility.

The incident was witnessed by children, who have only recently provided information to police, leading detectives to treat the incident as an alleged abduction.

Inquiries haven’t identified any correlating reports of missing people, an alleged victim, or report to police of such an incident.

Police are also seeking assistance from a woman with blonde hair with a pram, who may have been walking in the area at the time.

The victim was perceived to be of African appearance and police have released a facial composite of the woman, as well as an image of a vehicle similar to the one described.

Detectives are appealing for anyone with information to come forward.
