Forward Motion exhibition set to launch

As part of the 2022 Melbourne Fringe Festival, a new exhibition titled Forward Motion will soon launch at the Wyndham Cultural Centre.

Forward Motion was created collaboratively between Wyndham and Hobsons Bay artists who are lead by curators from Science Gallery Melbourne and arts mentor Annette Wagner of Wunder Gym.

Wyndham’s creative city portfolio holder councillor Marcel Mahfoud said participants ranged from many areas across the west.

“The Wunder Gym program is designed to encourage, and support individuals own creative practice and develop access to support creative networks and audiences,” he said.

“Wyndham City is proud to be partnering with Hobsons Bay to support artists from our municipalities.

“The Melbourne Fringe Festival turns 40 this year and has uncovered generations of artists that have created radical and remarkable fringe artwork, giving a voice to

those often unheard.”

The 2022 Melbourne Fringe Festival will reflect on history and how Melbourne has changed over four decades, while simultaneously looking forward, to imagine and a more diverse and vibrant arts sector.

The artworks will be on exhibit at the Wyndham Cultural Centre from Thursday, September 22, to Saturday, October 15, from 9am to 6pm every day.

Selected artworks will be installed at large public art installations located at Laneway Gallery and Altona Civic Centre.
