Two community precinct master plans for Tarneit North and Truganina, which include new sports reserves and family centres, have been adopted by Wyndham council.
The Tarneit North plan was prepared to guide the development of a 12.6-hectare reserve and Integrated Family Centre (IFC), next to future schools to be built near Fresco Way and Polly Parade. For the first stage of the reserve the plan recommended three soccer fields, a cricket field, six tennis courts and four softball diamonds.
The plan stated the IFC should have two kindergarten rooms, three maternal and children’s health consulting suites, a kitchen and a community room.
The IFC’s estimated opening date is 2022, while the estimated cost of construction across five years is about $20.97 million.
Meanwhile, the Truganina master plan will guide development of a 10.42-hectare reserve and an IFC, to be built within an area bordered by Forsyth, Dohertys, Morris and Leakes roads.
Recommendations for the first stage of construction included three soccer fields, a shared AFL and cricket field and six tennis courts.
Plans for the Truganina IFC included two kindergarten rooms and three maternal and children’s health consulting suites. The estimated date for the facility to open is 2021.
The estimated cost of building both the Truganina IFC and reserve was estimated at about $15.56 million.
The community precinct master plans stated that Tarneit’s population is expected to increase from about 35,134 residents to an estimated 115,763 residents by 2041, while Truganina’s population is set to increase from about 28,159 residents to an estimated 53,455 residents.
