Hasan Naim is one of the founders and current president of the Wyndham Volunteers Association.
1) What’s your connection to Wyndham.
I am living in Sanctuary Lakes, which is under Wyndham City Council. I am also on the council advisory board. I am involved in several events/projects which are supported by Wyndham City Council.
2) What do you like about where you live?
Living in Sanctuary Lakes is living in nature. We have great multicultural communities, which created a vibrant community with so many festivals and events.
3) What, if anything, would you change about where you live?
I would like to create a strong community bonding to create one community as I have noticed our ethnic groups are not connected with each other. They are mixing among their own community people and as a result other communities are not getting the opportunity to know each other.
4) Where is your favourite local place to spend time?
Wyndham Harbour is my favourite place as it has nice marina views and other facilities.
5) Tell us something people would be surprised to know about you.
When I was in high school, my aim in life was to be a professional actor, but I became a health science expert, which is a totally different profession.
6) Why did you become involved with the Wyndham Volunteers Association?
I am one of the founders and current president of Wyndham Volunteers Association. My aim was to create this organisation to provide environmental, mental and any further supports to the community to create a better and more sustainable environment as well as to promote multiculturalism and celebrate diversity to create vibrant and healthy living in Wyndham. Recently we have celebrated Harmony Day to celebrate our diversity through harmony.
7 ) What do you enjoy most about volunteering?
I feel cherished when I can do something to make people happy and see their happiness through their smile. Caring about people and sharing our values and helping others are most enjoyable part of my volunteering activities.
