Tarneit’s Moondara Street Park has a new lease on life thanks to upgrades that have been recently completed.
Wyndham council spent $1.2 million on improvements to the park which include new playground equipment across two playground areas, nature play areas, a half-court with basketball and netball hoop, picnic facilities and BBQ, upgraded pathways and a new circuit path
connection, new seating, landscaping upgrades and public toilet facilities.
Wyndham councillor Peter Maynard said the Moondara Street Park upgrade will provide Tarneit residents with a much-improved outdoor gathering space and a fun area for children of all ages.
“We know how important it is for Wam families to have open spaces close to
home,” he said.
“These works will create a more pleasant and welcoming space for the whole family
and are part of council’s strategy to address ageing infrastructure within several
Wyndham reserves as detailed in the play space strategy and open space
strategy.”
The official opening of the park was celebrated on Saturday with a free BBQ and coffee during the day, followed by food trucks and an evening screening of Bollywood hit Barfi.
