Matilda’s Chistmas rev up

Santa’s getting a hand from Point Cook’s Matilda this Christmas.
The Year 4 Point Cook College pupil, with the help of her grandparents Lynn and John Tout, collected two trailers full and a boot-load of toys last week for kids in need.
Matilda also helped to deck out her “pretty cool” grandmother’s Holden Goldwing motorcycle to pile up with donated jigsaw puzzles, trains, board games, action figures and books.
“This is the first time I’ve done this,” she said.
“It makes me feel grateful that I can help other kids get toys and grateful that I have toys as well.”
The Tout’s, who are members of the Westgate Wanderers motorcycle club, completed the annual Geelong Toy Run with toys in tow from Eastern Beach to Queenscliff where they donated them for distribution to various charities.
“Every year motorcycle groups collect toys and gives them to charity,” Mrs Tout said.
“It’s all about people…we hope to show Matilda what a great thing it is to give to other people instead of just receiving gifts.
“It’s the giving side of Christmas which is sometimes lost with our young ones.”
