Point Cook’s Valentine is set to steal hearts as Mr April in a calendar to raise money for one of the state’s largest animal hospitals.
The 2020 Lort Smith Backyard Heroes calendar, now available online, features 12 adorable furry, fluffy and scaly pets from across Melbourne.
Owner Mary Wickham adopted the handsome feline from Lort Smith Adoption Centre on Valentine’s Day.
Ms Wickham said the adoption team who cared for him until he was rehomed was glad to see their one of their favourite’s back for what will be Valentine’s second appearance in the calendar. The annual initiative raises money for Lort Smith’s work, caring for sick, injured and vulnerable animals, and the people who care for them. .
Mice, cats, dogs, reptiles, birds and wombats were all photographed for this year’s project – which aims to celebrate the array of animals that vets treat every week at Australia’s largest not-for-profit animal hospital.
