Those chasing big bucks in Hoppers Crossing and Tarneit appear to have greater chances of winning a major lottery if they buy their tickets locally.

The postcode 3029, which takes in Hoppers Crossing and Tarneit, has been named the third most frequent area for division one prizes being won across all Tattslotto outlets in the state.

The Hoppers Crossing-Tarneit area is also third highest in terms of total division one prize money being paid out, with more than $5.8 million. The biggest prize amount from a ticket sold in 3029 was $2 million.

Tatura delivered the most division one cash in the state, with more than $13.5 million. Melbourne delivered $9.4 million. The figures are for the year to the end of November.

Hoppers Crossing’s Target Lotto has sold six division-one winning tickets in just two years.

Carlo Addamo, the owner of the store, said the shop had recently relocated following the shopping centre’s redevelopment and superstitious customers were fearful the new shop wouldn’t be as lucky.

But 10 days after the relocation, a division-one ticket was sold.

Mr Addamo said that while he was not privy to statistics on how the Hoppers Crossing store ranked in terms of winning tickets sold, his store seemed to be one of the luckiest.
