Rick Wolany has received the Werribee Football Club’s top honour – life membership.
Mr Wolany, OAM, was bestowed the honour recently for his ongoing contributions to the club.
He spent 10 years as Werribee Football Club’s major sponsor and was instrumental in stopping the club being kicked out of the VFL in 1995.
Tigers president Martin Carter lauded Mr Wolany’s contribution to the club.
“As a Werribee Football Club board member and sports club president during Rick’s decade of unparalleled support, I saw first-hand Rick’s contribution, not only financially, but behind the scenes as a boxing coach and mentor to our young leadership group,” Mr Carter said.
“He was an integral part of our success.”
