If you’re on the hunt for a purr-fect new pet companion, clear out your calendar for Saturday, December 10 for a paw-sitively cute kitten adoption day at the Wyndham Pound.

The a-meow-zing line up includes 12 kittens that are health checked, microchipped, desexed, vaccinated and flea and worm treated and all ready to meet their claw-some new family.

A Wyndham council spokesperson said that as of 2021, more than 8000 cats were registered to owners within the municipality.

“There are many benefits of owning a pet,“ the spokesperson said.

“It’s well known that pets can help reduce stress, provide companionship and improve our overall health.”

Each kitten will cost $235 and will be available for residents to purchase from 10am-noon.

“Wyndham city encourages responsible pet ownership and encourages residents to ensure their pets are registered with council,“ the spokesperson said.

Current pet owners living in Wyndham with a registered cat could also be eligible to receive a $50 voucher from council to be used for desexing their pet at participating veterinary clinics in the municiplaity. Vouchers are valid for one month, are limited to two per household and can also be provided to dog owners.
