Wyndham Warriors BMX Club hosted a legend earlier this week, when Olympian Luke Madill ran a series of coaching clinics for members.

The 12-time national champion and 2008 Olympic rider said he decided to drop in at the Werribee track before this weekend’s state titles at Shepparton.

“In coaching clinics, we cover all areas of the sport, from mental preparation to physical skills,” he said.

And reflecting on a successful career of 32 years, he added: “I consider myself lucky to have made a career out of something I just love and now, as the BMX Australia national development coach, I can continue that.”

Wyndham Warriors’ Mandie Morgan said it was an honour to have somebody of Madill’s calibre in Wyndham.

“He has that passion for the sport and really understands what the members are experiencing and it’s great to have him on board for these clinics,” she said.

Wyndham Warriors BMX Club has been operating for more than 10 years, with members ranging in age from two to 50.

The track, at Heathdale Glen Orden Wetlands, is open to the public whenever official club racing or training events are not running. For more information about the club, visit www.wwbmxclub.com.au
