First responders celebrated

They’re ordinary people who put their lives in danger every day to make extraordinary differences in strangers lives.

Thank a First Responder Day, June 8, is dedicated to the nurses and firefighters, police and lifesavers and paramedics and SES members across the nation.

In the municipality, the Wyndham Vale Fire Brigade are often resident’s first call in an emergency.

“The Wyndham Vale Fire Brigade is made up of 45 operational Volunteer First Responders who come from all walks of life and contribute significantly each and every day to the community that they live in,“ Captain Trevor Weston said.

“As volunteer fire fighters, we have the great opportunity to work with many first responders both locally and from across the state.

“The work that these people do each and every day is extraordinary and we are fortunate to have this calibre of people in our community,“ he said.
