Fast and furious in Williams Landing

Police caught a Range Rover driver allegedly travelling at 78 kilometres over the speed-limit in Williams Landing on Saturday.

Officers were patrolling the Princes Freeway about 1.25am when they noticed the vehicle headed towards the city. The vehicle was allegedly travelling at 178 kilometres per hour in a 100-kilometre zone.

Police intercepted the Range Rover and spoke to a 33-year-old man from Braybrook.

He underwent a preliminary breath test and then an evidentiary breath test, where he returned an alleged reading of 0.091.

The man’s car was impounded and his licence was immediately suspended.

The man is expected to be charged on summons for speed dangerous, drink driving and other traffic offences.
