Wyndham second-highest in Vic for virus

Wyndham residents have been diagnosed with the second-highest number of active COVID-19 cases in the state.

Sixty active cases were diagnosed in Wyndham residents yesterday (compared to 45 active cases the day before).

The only Victorian municipality which has more active cases of the virus than Wyndham is the Hume municipality, which includes the suburbs of Broadmeadows and Roxburgh Park. Hume now has 104 active COVID-19 cases (compared to 100 active cases the day before).

The total number of coronavirus cases in Victoria has reached 2536, with 74 new cases reported yesterday.

Sixteen of the new cases are linked to outbreaks, four new cases have been identified through routine testing and 53 cases are under investigation.

One new case has been linked to the Truganina family virus outbreak, taking the total number of cases linked to that outbreak to 14.

Eight new cases have been linked to an outbreak at Al-Taqwa College in Truganina. The total number of cases linked to the school outbreak has reached 59.
