Dentist Dr Pauline Durham is retiring after more than four decades of caring for the teeth of many Wyndham residents.

Dr Durham, who started at the Werribee Dental Clinic after university, celebrated her final day of work last month.

Dr Durham said she had greatly enjoyed working at the clinic for the past 41 years.

She said she would miss her patients most of all, including the families she has treated for three generations.

“I’ll miss everyone, I’ll miss my patients – they’re lovely,” she said.

“You learn so much from them, talking to them, and that’s the part I’ll miss.”

Dr Durham said she would also miss her colleagues.

“I’ll be popping back to visit them, they’re like family,” she said.

Dr Durham said when she started at the Werribee Dental Clinic, it was in Watton Street, before moving to its current Cottrell Street location during the mid-80s.

“I’ve seen Werribee change a lot,” she said.

“It was like a country town when I first started, now it’s a suburb.”

Dr Durham said she was looking forward to travelling during her retirement and spending more time with her family.

“It’s going to be an adventure, I’ve got to find out what I’d like to do, now that I’m not working,” she said.
