Doggie gear with glitz

Dog accessories with a big glam factor are being created for canine lovers everywhere.

Point Cook-based entrepreneur Angela Infantino established her brand, Molly Barker, online less than a year ago, naming it after her great dane Labrador cross.

“When I got Molly, I shopped around for products for her and I just couldn’t find anything out on the market that was beautiful and looked lovely in my home,” Ms Infantino said. “Everything was quite cutsie or cheesy … I just wanted very elegant things.”

After a year of research, Ms Infantino quit her job in the building industry and went into business.

“It’s lovely working from home,” she said. “The best part has been leaving the corporate world and having something that you’re really passionate about.”

Molly Barker offers a range of Australian-made leather collars, leads and waste bag holders, toys, beds and organic grooming products.

Molly Barker has entered this year’s Wyndham Business Awards in the new and emerging business and people’s choice categories.

Star Weekly is a media partner of the Wyndham Business Awards.

Entries and nominations are open until May 31.
