Seventeen councils across the nation, including Wyndham, have called on the federal government to commit to strong action on climate change, ahead of the United Nations Climate Conference in November. The councils have joined 105 signatories in the Better Futures Australia (BFA) Declaration, requesting the federal government ensure the nation is on track for a “climate-resilient zero emissions future” in line with the goals of the Paris Agreement. The agreement, an international treaty on climate change adopted in 2015, aims to limit global warming to below 2 degrees Celsius, compared to pre-industrial levels.
