Fundraising stall

Werribee Ladies for Kids Royal Children’s Hospital Melbourne will have a fundraising stall at the Pacific Werribee until Sunday, December 5. The stall will include Christmas ornaments and tea towels, dolls, knitted items including pure wool blankets, matching children’s poncho sets and beanies.

BinGO MOVE

BinGO MOVE is a social exercise group which meets every Monday at 11am. It involves a fun interactive game where bingo numbers trigger an exercise or dance move. Activity suits all levels of ability, you can do seated or standing as suits. Currently running via Zoom, IPC Health will also offer face-to-face groups in Hoppers Crossing, when restrictions permit.

Volunteers needed

The Multiple Sclerosis (MS) Community Visitors Scheme is seeking female Maltese and Italian-speaking volunteers to join its volunteer program within the Werribee and Point Cook areas to visit elderly residents in either an aged care facility or their own home. The scheme is also seeking a female volunteer with an understanding of MS to visit a mature lady in an aged care facility in Altona Meadows.

AL-ANON meets

AL-ANON provides support for families and loved ones living with alcoholics and problem drinkers. The group meets Mondays at St Thomas Anglican Church foyer, 117 Synnot Street, Werribee, from 7.30pm, and on Tuesdays at the St Mary’s Tennis Club rooms, 204 Grimshaw Street, Greensborough.

Lions Christmas cakes, puddings

Werribee Lions are pleased to announce that Lions Christmas cakes and puddings will be available at Pacific Werribee (near Target entrance, from 9am – 5pm), Manor Lakes Shopping Centre (outside Coles 9am – 5pm), Bunnings Werribee (inside the main door 9am – 5pm), Bunnings Hoppers Crossing (opposite the cafe, 8am – 4pm) and Bunnings Tarneit (from the cafe – continuously). Sales will be held on weekends and maybe on the two days before Christmas, if the club have enough Lions to provide a service. Prices are unchanged from last year ($15 for 1.5 kilogram cakes, $13 for 1 kg cakes and 900 gram puddings, $2 for each 40 gram slice).

Heritage walks

Enjoy a leisurely two-hour walk around historic Williamstown and nearby suburbs with guide John. Walks start at 9.20am each Tuesday outside the Visitor Information Centre in Nelson Place.

Community visitors

The Office of the Public Advocate is seeking volunteers in the Melton area to become Community Visitors, upholding the human rights of people with a cognitive disability who are living in supported care. Community Visitors monitor and report on the adequacy of services being provided to residents, talk to residents to identify issues of concern and write a brief report at the conclusion of the visit. Training and reimbursement of expenses are provided.
