More than 20 childcare operators in Wyndham were forced to close between 2018 and 2020 after having their provider approval revoked, according to

data from the website of the Department of Education and Training Victoria (DETV).

One operator has been prosecuted after two children left the service without the knowledge of staff, ran onto the road and were returned by members of the public in March 2019, according to the website.

Early Childhood Management Services Inc, was issued with a good behaviour bond by the Magistrates Court in October for the incident.

DETV documents reveal that the court found there “was inadequate supervision and a failure to ensure the safety, health and wellbeing of children” at the centre.

In July last year, Wellbeing Family Day Care in McLeans Road, Little River had its provider approval cancelled after it ” breached a condition”.

In May last year, Dreamland Family Day Care Services – which was located Sayers Road, Truganina – had its approval cancelled because an “approved provider or a person with management or control (was) not a fit and proper person to be involved in the provision of an education and care”.

The provider also breached the conditions of its approval.

During April 2020, Growing Stars Family Day Care in Alison Street, Truganina, had its approval cancelled for breaching its conditions.

Three other Truganina childcare providers, six Tarneit operators, four in Hoppers Crossing, three in Point Cook and a Werribee operator and a Williams Landing provider have all been stripped of their approval.
