Mary Sfameni knows that a little can go a long way.

The Point Cook business owner, who runs Seasons Spa Retreat day spa, is doing her bit for the local community by throwing a Werribee Mercy Hospital Critical Care Unit fundraiser on Monday from 6pm.

The event, which will be held at Seasons-5 Resorts, will include a grazing table and sweets, raffles and exhibits from other local businesses.

Ms Sfameni said the aim was to raise as much as possible for the CCU.

“I have always wanted to organise a fundraiser for the Werribee Mercy Hospital and once joining Rotary International Hoppers Crossing I have seen how small contributions can equate to making a big difference.

“I have lived in Werribee all my life. I have seen Werribee Mercy Hospital grow and become one of the best equipped hospitals in the western suburbs, but with an expanding community and a need for more staff and facilities, this ultimately takes millions of dollars to achieve.

“You never know when someday, someone you know may be in need of the Critical Care Unit and it is at that moment you truly understand how important our hospital is to us.”

Tickets are $20 per person. For more information and to book, go to www.facebook.com/events/186381078579109/
