Buses will replace trains on sections of the Werribee line from 9pm tonight until Wednesday, June 16, as work continues on the Aircraft station underpass.

The pedestrian underpass is being built as part of stage two of the Aviation Road level crossing removal project, which will also include upgraded station forecourts, landscaping works and 100 new and upgraded car parks at Aircraft station.

A temporary overpass is open at Aircraft station, providing pedestrians and cyclists continued access to platforms until the new underpass is complete at the end of the year.

Works will also take place at Hoppers Crossing station, where workers will install stairs and roofing that will connect a new pedestrian overpass with station platforms.

Buses will replace trains between Newport and Werribee stations from today and June 11, and between June 14 to June 16.

On the weekend of June 12 to 13, buses will replace trains between North Melbourne and Werribee stations, and also North Melbourne to Williamstown stations.

Passengers have been advised extra time when planning their journeys.

Passengers are reminded to wear a mask on public transport at all times and are encouraged to register their myki cards by visiting ptv.vic.gov.au, via the PTV app or by calling 1800 800 007.
