Active cases reach 370 in Wyndham

The number of active coronavirus cases among Wyndham residents has reached 370 today, compared to 350 active cases yesterday.

Wyndham remains the municipality with the highest number of active COVD-19 cases in Victoria, followed by Hume (308 active cases), Brimbank (289 active cases) and Melbourne (272 active cases).

Victoria has recorded 374 new cases of coronavirus since yesterday, with the total number of cases now at 6289.

The overall total has increased by 347 cases, after 27 cases were reclassified – largely due to duplication.

Sixty-two of the new cases are linked to known outbreaks or complex cases and 312 cases are under investigation.

Three new deaths have been reported since yesterday, three women aged in their 80s, 90s and 100s. To date, 42 people have died from coronavirus in Victoria.

As well, 174 coronavirus patients are in hospital, including 36 in intensive care. 3078 Victorians have recovered from the virus.

A total of 175 cases have been linked to Al-Taqwa College in Truganina, and 31 cases have been linked to Glendale Aged Care facility in Werribee.

Also in the west:

-60 cases have been linked to Somerville Retail Services in Tottenham

-38 cases have been linked to JBS in Brooklyn

-42 cases have been linked to Estia Health in Ardeer

-and nine cases have been linked to Melbourne City Mission in Albion.

As of today, Melton residents have been diagnosed with 135 active coronavirus cases, Maribyrnong residents 95 active cases and Hobsons Bay residents 65 active cases.

Greater Geelong residents presently have 18 active cases of the coronavirus.
