Ready for a gouda day

By Alesha Capone

It’s time to cheese the day.

The Fromage a Trois Cheese Festival will return to the grounds of Werribee Park on March 22.

Artisan cheese producers and cheesemongers will participate in the day, and dishes including cheese platters, raclette, cannoli and arancini will be available.

Handcrafted wine, beer, cider and spirits will also be sold, with festivalgoers encouraged to picnic on the lawns of the Werribee Park Mansion.

Roving entertainment, lawn games and a live music line-up will feature on the day.

Other activities will include master classes and demonstrations on stage, mozzarella stretching and cheese-inspired ice cream.

Free shuttle buses will be running from Werribee and Wyndham Vale stations to the festival, and paid shuttle services will also be available from Brunswick train station.

The Wyndham council event is supported by major sponsor Pyrenees Wine Region.

Limited Early Bird tickets to the festival are now available for $33, plus a booking fee, at www.melbournefoodandwine.com.au/program/fromage-a-trois-cheese-festival-7242

Entry is free for children 14 and under, when they enter with a full-paying adult.

Tickets are inclusive of entry, entertainment, samples and a take-home festival glass to use on the day. Details: facebook.com/fromageatroisfestival and fromageatrois.com.au
