The secret to securing a winning lotto ticket could be as simple as buying your ticket in Hoppers Crossing or Werribee.
The suburbs are high on a list of Victoria’s luckiest lotto suburbs, based on the sale of first division winners between January 1 and June 30 this year.
Three first division-winning tickets have been sold already this year at Target Lotto on Old Geelong Road in Hoppers Crossing, netting more than $1.2 million in prizes.
Two winning tickets, totalling $1.5 million, have been sold in Werribee.
South Preston has been Victoria’s luckiest suburb so far this year.
While only two first division winners were sold in the Preston area between January and June, it has netted more than $2.8 million in division one prizes.
Target Lotto’s most recent first division win came last Wednesday. A syndicate of 10 won about $2 million, earning them about $200,000 each.
It was the store’s 28th first division win.
Owner Carlo Addamo said most of the store’s first division winners were members of syndicates.
“We’ve been so lucky with our syndicates,” he said.
“We’re probably one of the biggest-selling syndicate outlets in Australia. We sell about 60 each week.
“Being part of a syndicate increases your chance of winning by 10.”
