Wyndham residents can have a say on how the city’s bus services can be improved.
A series of community meetings next week, organised by Public Transport Victoria, will allow input into the state government’s proposed bus network plan.
With Regional Rail Link stations opening at Tarneit and Wyndham Vale next year, along with new bus interchanges, PTV is planning a major restructure of the bus network.
The council has been striving to improve bus services in Wyndham since launching its Get Wyndham Moving Campaign in March.
Wyndham Transport Advisory Committee chairman Chris Higgs said improving bus services was a priority and the committee was calling for all Wyndham bus routes to connect with their nearest railway station and activity centre. He also called for more services in growth areas, extended hours of operation, and direct shuttle services between Wyndham Vale and Werribee stations and Tarneit and Hoppers Crossing or Williams Landing stations.
The community information sessions will be held at:
• Williams Landing station from 3-7pm on September 1;
• Outside Big W at Werribee Plaza (10am-2pm) and at Kelly Park Centre in Synnot Street (3-6.30pm) on September 2; and
• Wyndham Vale Community Learning Centre from 3-7pm on September 4
