Pacific Werribee turns 30 | with VIDEO

Pacific Werribee, once known as Werribee Plaza, has turned 30.

The centre has undergone a raft of changes since opening in 1985, and the final stage of a mammoth $370 million redevelopment is well under way.

Hoppers Crossing resident Les Porter has frequented the centre for three decades in his work with the Salvation Army.

Mr Porter says he remembers when the centre was much smaller.

“It was just virtually the front section and the other end, where Big W is, wasn’t there,” he says.

“Where the back part is now, they used to have the circus out there on vacant land. The variety of stores there now means there’s no need to travel anywhere else.”
